Just finished a commission job in Kansas City with Scribe & a couple of my cohorts. They wanted us to just come in & paint Graffiti like we would on the street... simple enough!

I'm a tool!

A learning tool that is! ;) I was recently interviewed, via Skype, by a teacher from the School of the Art Institute Chicago. The interview was played before the Art History class & afterwards I was Skyped in for a live Q & A! Cool huh! Well he sent me this image today showing one of my pieces as a reference to how a Graffiti piece is structured & laid out! Never would I have thought something like this could occur, its really mindblowing! I wish classes like this were offered when I was in school...

In the 80's I got my start & first real recognition as a "street" artist in Chicago. Now it seems things have come full circle as the School of the Art Institute Chicago is having me as a guest speaker in one of their Art History classes! I will be doing an "in class" Skype discussion as well as speaking live on an Artist panel this coming May! A teaser video has been released to announce the event. So long 2009!

I decided to pick 1 piece from 09' that I felt reflected my abilities as a color & lettering technician. This ASTER piece in Pueblo stood out to me! The letter structure along with the color combination flows effortlessly, creating a very pleasing overall impression. I will have my work cut out for me if I am to top this piece in 2010!
